Competition of free papers for oral and e-poster presentation
Faculty of Pain Medicine of the College of Anaesthesiologists & Intensivists of Sri Lanka invite submissions from those interested in presenting pain related free papers & E-posters at the 13th Annual Scientific Sessions (Virtual) 2025.

The work should be related to pain medicine.
A panel of judges will make a preliminary selection of the papers/posters to be presented at the congress & notification will be given to the participants within a week of closing of submissions via an e-mail.
A panel of judges shall decide on the award of prizes at the virtual annual scientific session and the decision of this panel in all matters relating to the competition shall be final.
All papers/posters will be judged on abstract quality, methodological merit, work involved, standard of presentation, question handling, relevance & originality.
The prize will not be awarded if the judges decide that the presentations are not up to the expected standard.
The first right of publication of the entries submitted lies with the Editor of the College of Anaesthesiologists & Intensivists of Sri Lanka. The selected abstracts will be published in the proceedings book.
The official language of the congress is English & all abstracts must be submitted in English.
Work that has been previously published in any English language medical peer-reviewed journal or work previously presented at a major meeting will not be considered for presentation & authors will be asked to sign a statement to that effect (Author Declaration form). The deadline for submission of abstracts is 31st of August 2025.
Authors whose submission is selected for presentation must register to attend the scientific session.
Abstracts should be done in Microsoft Word format and not exceed 400 words. It may contain one table and/or figure and have a maximum of five references. The word count does not include the title (150 characters), references, and author names.
Text should be single-spaced throughout in Arial 12 point font.

All case reports should be submitted as e-posters and will be judged separately. A statement about patient consent must be included, and the consent form submitted with the abstract.
Abstracts stating "will be discussed", "will be described" or "will be presented" will be rejected.
Write in the past tense (what was done).
Use only standard abbreviations and the international system of units (except for pressure: use cm H2O or mmHg).
Acknowledge funding sources or conflicts of interest at the end.
Work dealing with an invention requires ethics committee approval at the time of submission.
